We convened our Annual Meeting on August 6, where we reviewed our progress for the last year. Also in attendance at that meeting was the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. They recognized TJS as having made a complete turnaround in its management of The Society and in the ranks of the Board of Directors. They did a ribbon cutting ceremony, awarded their Proclamation, and wished us 100 Years of Good Fortune. We thank the Tucson Metro Chamber for their support!

One year ago, it appeared that we didn’t have the capability to continue our mission of presenting Jazz to Southern Arizona. Our Board had dwindled to the minimum of 5 needed to comply with our Bylaws, and we lacked the talent needed for operating The Society. I’m happy to say that is all now changed. If you’ve been to any of our recent concerts, you will agree that we are presenting a wide range of world class Jazz performers. Our Board is now staffed with key professionals working hard to keep the concerts coming. We still have a few needs in Marketing, Concert Promotion and Production. If you are reading this, and have these skills, we would very much appreciate you volunteering with us.
