Dear Jazz Friend,
We Want YOU!
Our annual board meeting in July 2014 is fast approaching and we are looking for NEW BOARD positions to be filled. Share your talents and energy, meet new people, and become a meaningful part of the arts community. I ask that you become a member of the Board for the Tucson Jazz Society. Remember that the TJS is a non-profit 501(c)3 and volunteers make up the work that we do. We are looking for you!
The TJS bylaws dictate that the following timed out positions be replaced July 2014: President, Vice President, Education Committee Chair, and Membership Chair.
We also earnestly request your participation in the following areas: Marketing for Sponsorships, Raffles, Silent Auctions & Other Fundraising Events, and Event Organization.
It is up to the current board members to recruit new members ahead of the Annual Meeting in July. At the July meeting we will elect the Executive Committee responsible for TJS development & operations.
So the time is now to ask for your involvement! If you have lots of ideas and want to make a difference we need you!
Currently the TJS has a great group of people that make up a strong board. For myself, my tenure ends at the July 2014 meeting. I’ve had a great time working with this wonderful group of committed people, all from diverse backgrounds and work experiences, and I am VERY grateful for their contributions. I intend to stay active as a board member but am not allowed as President.
So I invite you-for your love of Jazz-to become a part of the Tucson Jazz Society. What better way to meet new people and share your talents than to join the TJS Board. Please contact me with your interest at president@tucsonjazz.org
