TJS Executive Director, Patrica Possert

Patricia A. Possert has begun her fourth year as the Executive Director of the Tucson Jazz Society. A resident of Tucson for 30 years, Ms. Possert is an avid jazz fan and long-time supporter of the arts. She brings to TJS an extensive background in marketing, public relations and communications in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Ms. Possert has over ten years experience in radio broadcasting with Family Life Communications, headquartered in Tucson. Possert was also responsible for marketing the Tucson Sidewinders Baseball Club and Explorer Newspaper and was on the executive staff of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory.

Ms. Possert’s marketing background in the private sector, along with her experience as an executive level administrator in the non-profit arena serves her well in the position of TJS executive director. She has been adept at forging long-standing relationships with community and business leaders and has enlisted these resources as participants in the growth and development of the Tucson Jazz Society. Since assuming directorship in 2005, TJS has realized record breaking increase in concert attendance, membership enrollment, sponsorship support and has successfully grown the organization’s annual budget from $150,000 to over $450,000.

Possert’s vision, along with the board of directors, includes leveraging the jazz society’s capabilities to position Tucson as a world class jazz destination responsible for making a significant contribution to southern Arizona’s future economic and cultural development.
